Contact plates
Contact plates for hygiene monitoring of surfaces
Contact plates for professional hygiene monitoring enable reliable testing of surfaces for bacteria and other microbiological contaminants. They are easy and safe to use and can be used in critical cleanrooms as well as in non-critical areas.
At CleanControlling, you will find high-quality contact plates that are also equipped with a de-inhibitor that neutralizes disinfectant residues. Thus, even disinfected surfaces can be closely monitored and checked for microbiological contamination. This is particularly important in hygiene-sensitive environments such as hospitals and laboratories. Where high standards of technical cleanliness are required, the use of plates with de-inhibitors is generally mandatory.
For sampling, the contact plates are pressed firmly onto the surface to be tested and rolled a little to transfer microorganisms from the surface. The contact plate is then sealed and incubated at controlled temperature and humidity to allow growth of the microorganisms. By counting and identifying the microorganisms or colonies that have grown on the contact plates, the microbiological load on the surface can be accurately determined.
We supply the contact plates in sterile, double packaging. For safe use, the storage temperature should not exceed 25 °C. Use each unpacked plate immediately and always wear protective gloves and, if necessary, other protective equipment to avoid contamination or falsification of the results. Our headquarters are in Tuttlingen, the "world center of medical technology". In the Tuttlingen area, we therefore offer a free pick-up service for test items. Otherwise, it is possible to send us contact plates or other test items for evaluation without any problems.
